The VMCC Banbury Run
June 6
The premier vintage motorcycle event.
The Banbury Run is the largest gathering of pre-1931 motorcycles & three-wheelers in the world. This annual event sees a load of veteran and vintage motorcycles ride out together from the British Motor Museum at Gaydon and take a run through the countryside of Warwickshire and North Oxfordshire, over roads similar to those used for the original Banbury Run. It is mainly rural lane with riding on the major roads kept to a minimum.
There is a choice of a couple of routes – 40 miles for the earlier machines; 75 miles for the later and faster bikes. The routes run in opposite directions, so those on the older motorcycles will avoid mixing with the faster machines. “Tulip” route-sheets are distributed at the start and there will be places of interest to stop and chill if required.
